I've been been fascinated and captivated with trains for years and I've been photographing them in and around Chicago since 2015. Maybe it's because my grandfather was a conductor on the Illinois Railroad from the late 1930s through the 1960s. Or maybe I got hooked on trains when my dad built a small HO scale model railroad in the basement. Or maybe it was when my friends and I jumped a few freight trains during my college years. I'm not sure why, I just like being around the giant machines.
The 29 images I made of light rail train traffic in & around Chicago, between 2015 - 2021 are printed on Hahnemuhle paper with archival ink in one size. Edition of 5 + 2 artist proofs.
